Delhi Capitals have announced Rishabh Pant as their captain for the upcoming IPL 2024 season. The confirmation came through an official statement on Tuesday, March 19.

Pant, who had been sidelined due to a car accident near Roorkee in December 2022, has undergone surgery and extensive rehabilitation to make a comeback for IPL 2024. He is currently training with the DC team in Vizag.

The 26-year-old was given the green light by the BCCI to resume his role as a keeper-batter in the IPL. Pant kept fans updated on his recovery journey via social media while rehabilitating at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru.

DC chairman Parth Jindal commended Pant for his resilience in bouncing back from the accident.

“We are thrilled to have Rishabh back as our Captain. His fearless approach to the game has always been his trademark, evident in his recovery journey. I am excited to see him lead our team once more as we gear up for a fresh season with renewed energy,” Jindal expressed.
